At Marsham Court Hotel, we’ve always aimed to cater for whatever needs our guests may have, whether residential guests or day visitors. Recently, though, we’ve made a deliberate effort to go the extra mile on accessibility, and several new facilities are now available. This has been recognised by the Catey Award for Accessibility we’ve just won — the accessibility equivalent of winning an Oscar.
Whether you’re staying with us, coming for a business meeting or conference, or whether you’re taking advantage of our restaurants, bars or other facilities, our aim is to make your visit enjoyable, regardless of any special needs.
Accessible Rooms at Marsham Court Hotel
We now have two guest rooms that are fully adapted to accessible requirements. Reached along level floors from the lifts, they’re equipped with profiling beds for your comfort and removable ceilings hoists, allowing a carer to assist you with a minimum of fuss, if required.
Both rooms also have wet rooms to make showering easier, and we can provide commode shower seats on request. They’re also dog friendly, so your assistance dog can share the room with you, as well as accompanying you throughout the hotel — and even dine with you.
Changing Places at Marsham Court Hotel
One of the upgrades we’re proudest of is our brand-new Changing Places. We recognise that some of our guests may require personal care and don’t want to have to return to their rooms, while non-residential visitors may also need this facility.
Our Changing Places, which is accessed by a key card available from the reception desk, provides everything you need. Besides features like non-slip flooring and drop-down grab bars for the toilet, we also provide an adult-sized changing bench and a shower, with a ceiling hoist and privacy screen also available. You can get back to what you were enjoying with a minimum of fuss.
Sensory Room and Swimming Pool at Marsham Court Hotel
Accessibility can be fun, too. A few months ago, we opened a fully equipped sensory room for our guests with additional needs. It’s been expertly designed to provide either relaxation or de-escalation for both residential guests and day visitors of all ages.
We’ve also upgraded facilities for our swimming pool to increase its accessibility. This includes accessible toilets, making it easier for all our guests to enjoy the water or relax in a sun lounger.
Marsham Court Hotel Is Committed to Accessibility
Accessibility for all is at the heart of our philosophy at Marsham Court, from conveniently positioned disabled parking to our staff, who will always go out of their way to ensure all our guests get the most out of their visits. Besides individual stays, we’ve also partnered with The Dorset Children’s Foundation to provide a range of play and sports activities for disabled children and their families.
