Sensory Room

Marsham Court Hotel
At Marsham Court Hotel, our Sensory Room forms part of our wider commitment to making stays, visits and events more inclusive, comfortable and manageable for guests with additional needs.

Installed in November 2021, the room was created to provide a calm, specially designed space for guests of different ages and with a wide range of needs. It can be used for both relaxation and de-escalation, including for guests with sensory or processing difficulties who may benefit from a quieter, more supportive environment during their time at the hotel.

Whether you are staying with us for a short break, visiting for a family meal, or attending a meeting, conference or event, the Sensory Room is available to use if needed.

A More Inclusive Visit to Marsham Court

The Sensory Room helps support guests who may benefit from a calmer environment before, during or after their visit. It is part of our broader approach to inclusive hospitality, helping Marsham Court feel more accessible not only for overnight stays, but also for family visits, events, meetings and dining.

You may also wish to explore our Changing Places toilet and shower facility and wider accessibility resources before your visit.

We also have a Changing Places Toilet and Shower facility.

Supporting Inclusive Experiences Beyond the Hotel

Dorset-Childrens-Foundation
We are proud to support The Dorset Children’s Foundation, a local independent charity that works to enhance the lives of disabled children and their families.

Founded in 2013, the charity provides play and sports activities, mental health counselling for families, support groups, Stay and Play sessions, and access to specialist equipment. It also supports educational workshops on disability awareness and, in some cases, helps fund vital equipment for children who need it.

Each year, The Dorset Children’s Foundation also grants at least one family the opportunity to visit Give Kids the World in Florida, helping create lasting memories for families who may otherwise face significant barriers to travel and leisure.

Their charity shops in Bournemouth help cover their running costs so that donations can go directly towards supporting local children and families.
