If holidays go hand in hand for you with swimming or sunbathing, you’ll want a pool available for your visit to Bournemouth. Of course, the town features a long stretch of award-winning beaches, looking out over Bournemouth Bay — but sometimes you want an outdoor pool, whether to swim or to lounge.
That makes it strange that Bournemouth only has five outdoor pools. But it’s fine because one of them is at Marsham Court Hotel.
Marsham Court Hotel’s Outdoor Swimming Pool
From May to September, Marsham Court’s outdoor pool is available to hotel guests as part of their room booking, with no extra charge. The pool is heated, and is open between 8am and 8pm — weather permitting, of course.
We cater for all swimmers, regardless of their needs. Poolside changing rooms and accessible toilets are available, and our award-winning Changing Places facility, though not by the pool, is there for use by all hotel guests. We also have an i-swim pool hoist and shuffle board, and our latest addition, installed just this year, is a new portable hoist and privacy screen.
Most of the time, the pool is open exclusively to hotel guests. However, on some mid-week dates during the summer we make available Accessible Poolside tickets to non-guests.
What to Do When You’re Not in the Water
A pool is for swimming, but it’s much more than that. There’s also plenty of room to just lie back and relax in one of our sun loungers — even if you don’t get wet at all.
Of course, part of relaxing by the pool is having drinks and snacks to hand. During peak times, our Pool Bar is open for both alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as a choice of snacks. And, if you want a light meal without abandoning your poolside experience, everything from sandwiches to burgers to salad is available on the terrace.
What to Do Away From the Pool
The pool experience is an essential part of the holiday for many people, but you probably won’t want to spend all your time there. The Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area offers everything you could need, from those stunning beaches to a wide range of shops, restaurants and nightlife.
There’s something for everyone, whether you want museums or sports. And Bournemouth is situated perfectly for daytrips to iconic locations such as the New Forest, the Jurassic Coast and even Stonehenge.
