Congratulations to the lovely Laura & Mark who got married here on 28th July 2018!
The couple stayed with us from Thursday night as they came from Stoke-on-Trent. They visited the hotel last year and just fell in love with it and its sea views. They opted for the Sunset Package which was ideal and well suited for them.
The weather was looking lovely in the morning, so we were all hopeful that it would be an outside wedding. 3pm came and Kat, the Wedding Coordinator, and Andy, the Operations Manager, started to set up the ceremony outside. 3:15pm came and all of a sudden the wind picks up and starts to rain. The bride still wanted to go for an outside ceremony as it looked like the clouds would pass.
Suddenly, 3:30pm the heavens opened up and the rain came pouring down. Everyone was on hand to bring back the red carpet and chairs back inside. The bar girls were ready with cloths to start to wipe the chairs dry for the ceremony to happen inside the hotel. At 3:45pm what does the sun do? Starts coming out! The team and some of the wedding guests started to put the chairs back outside so Laura & Mark could have their dream wedding that they’ve always wanted.
We made it on time for 4pm for the ceremony to start. Talk about team work! Check out the photo for the very helpful guests and hotel team who helped with bringing the chairs in and out.
Finally, after the ceremony guests enjoyed a bucks fizz reception with their guests. The buffet was served in the Dorset Suite in the evening with a glass of prosecco for all. Later on in the evening, guests enjoyed the couple’s first dance which they had lessons for and everyone thought they were brilliant.

Oh my. What wonderful people. We had the perfect wedding, day and evening. We so wanted to get married in the garden, however the weather kept the staff and guests busy, CHAIRS IN, CHAIRS OUT, CHAIRS IN. 5 Mins before ceremony CHAIRS OUT!!! Thank you to everyone who helped. We were treated like royalty. NOTHING was too much trouble. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks especially to Kat (wedding coordinator) Andy (duty manager) Graham and Patricia. We will be back.
