Accessible Hotel Rooms Designed for Comfort and Support
At Marsham Court Hotel, we offer a selection of accessible bedrooms designed to support guests with additional mobility and care needs, while making seaside stays in Bournemouth feel as comfortable and manageable as possible.
We have five accessible rooms with profiling beds and removable ceiling hoists.
Two of these rooms are located on the first floor. Both are dog friendly, and one also has an interconnecting standard double/twin room, which can be ideal for a carer, companion or additional family members. This adjoining room is also dog friendly.
On the second floor, there are two double/twin accessible rooms and one family room. The family room includes one standard double bed and two single profiling beds with a ceiling hoist overhead.
All accessible rooms include wet rooms. Commode shower seats, including both tilting and static options, are also available on request.
While the wet rooms do not include ceiling tracks or hoists, residential guests have 24-hour access to our Changing Places toilet and shower facility on the ground floor.
Additional Features for Guests with More Specific Needs
These bedrooms have been further adapted to support guests with more specific access requirements, including those travelling with a carer.
Each room includes removable single-track ceiling hoists and profiling beds designed to improve comfort, flexibility and support during your stay.
The profiling beds can be adjusted to:
- raise the head up to 85 degrees
- lift from under the knee to help position the legs more comfortably
- move vertically by up to 18 inches to assist carers with lifting and transfers
Depending on the room, the bed setup may be either:
- one bed base with two independently controlled single mattresses, or
- two separate profiling beds
If you have a preference, please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate it.
Some guests have told us that it can be helpful to bring WendyLett slide sheets with them. We are unable to supply these, so please bring your own if needed.

The Dorset Children’s Foundation (DCF)
We support The Dorset Children’s Foundation who run lots of activities that our guests can also take part in.
The Dorset Children’s Foundation (DCF) was founded in 2013 and is a small, independent charity created to enhance the lives of local disabled children and their families. We provide our Accessible for All programme of play and sports activities, Mental Health Counselling services for our families and fund support groups and Stay and Play sessions that help bring families of disabled children together. We also have a variety of special needs equipment that can be loaned out to families and in some cases, we provide funding for vital equipment.
In addition, we support educational workshops on disability to help raise awareness amongst the younger generations and work towards building a more inclusive society.
Each year the DCF grant at least one family the opportunity to visit Give Kids the World, a magical holiday resort in Florida, to create special memories that will last longer than a lifetime.
Our charity shops in Bournemouth cover our modest overheads so that every single penny donated goes directly to the children. The Dorset Children’s Foundation – Big enough to make a difference, small enough to care.
