Which Marsham Court room type suits your stay?

Which Marsham Court room type suits your stay?

There are thirteen room types here plus two self-catering apartments, which is a lot to scroll through when all you want is the right bed for two nights by the sea. The decision usually comes down to three things: how much of the view you want, how many of you there are, and whether you’d rather cook or be cooked for. Here’s how they compare.

The hotel rooms

The two decisions that actually cost money

Going from a standard room to a sea view is £20 a night. That’s the bigger of the two steps, and it’s the one worth thinking about, because a sea view room on the East Cliff is a different experience from an inland one and you’ll spend more time in it than you expect.

The balcony, on the other hand, is only £10 on top of a sea view. For two people in a double or twin, that’s the smallest upgrade in the whole list and the one that changes the room most, since it turns a view you look at into somewhere you can sit with a coffee. In summer it’s an easy yes. In February, rather less so, and the sea view alone does the job.

Worth noting that the King with Sea View and Balcony at £139 costs the same as a Family Room with Sea View, so if there are two of you and you’d like the bigger bed and the balcony rather than extra beds, the price lands in the same place.

If you’re bringing a dog

Dog-Friendly Stays in Bournemouth

We have nine dedicated dog-friendly bedrooms. Dogs can’t be accommodated in every room, so the dog-friendly option has to be selected when you book rather than mentioned on arrival, and with only nine of them it’s worth booking early in summer.

If you need an accessible room

Accessible bedrooms are £99, and we have wet rooms too. Layouts vary between them, though, so please talk to the team before booking rather than choosing from a photograph. That way we can match you to the room that genuinely works rather than the one that looks closest.

The apartments below aren’t suitable if you need step-free access, since they’re on the first floor of a private dwelling with no lift. Our accessibility pages set out the wider provision, including the pool hoist, beach wheelchair and Blue Badge parking.

The seasonal occupancy is the detail people miss. The bunk beds are only in place from May to September, so Flat 2 sleeps six in August and four in November. Do check that against your dates before you plan who’s coming.

Both apartments have an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, and Flat 2 has a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedding, towels, shampoo and body wash are all provided. Peak season covers Easter, May half term, June through September, and Christmas and New Year.

A £200 non-refundable deposit secures the booking, with the balance due a week before arrival and also non-refundable, so they suit firm plans rather than tentative ones. The apartments are only bookable direct with the hotel on 01202 923026, and you can see them on our apartments page.

You still get the run of the hotel: the outdoor pool from May to September, plus the bar and restaurant, so it’s self-catering without being cut off.

What comes with every room

Parking is free when you book direct, on every room type. Rooms are fitted with electric fans in the summer and heaters through autumn and winter. Apartment parking is free too, though on a first come, first served basis.

Narrowed it down? Have a look at the full list on our accommodation pages, or ring us and say who’s coming and when, and we’ll tell you which room we’d put you in.
