The Marsham Court Hotel in Russell-Cotes Road will be exhibiting at the GO Travel Show at the London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday (February 25), where it will also represent Bournemouth as an ‘event-full’ tourist destination.
GO Travel is attended by group travel organisers from across the UK and the Marsham Court will be exhibiting alongside attractions including the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Rosie Wallace, whose family own and operate the Marsham Court, said: “We draw many visitors because of our great location and Bournemouth’s attractions, but in recent years we have also witnessed a steep rise in the demand for specialist breaks.
“We now offer a range of our own dance holidays, whist and bowls breaks, watercolour painting breaks and even Mahjong holidays, as well as hosting independent specialist break companies.
“As a result, our specialist holiday business grew by 20 per cent last year, with a large proportion of our business coming from as far afield as the Midlands, London and the South East.
“This is great news for us and great news for Bournemouth as our visitors also like to enjoy the town’s many attractions while they are here.”
Accompanying the Marsham Court to the GO Travel show will be Sara Uzzell, owner of Bournemouth’s Whitehall and Arlington hotels which host bridge, Scrabble, bowls and chess holidays, as well as and mind, body and spirit retreats.
Jon Weaver Head of Resort Marketing and Events at Bournemouth Tourism, said: “It’s great to have two of our top hotels promoting Bournemouth as a top destination for specialist breaks.
“Bournemouth continues to achieve its goal in being an ‘Event Full Town’ which is down to the continued innovation and commitment of our tourism businesses.”
The Marsham Court was named Large Hotel of the Year at the Bournemouth Tourism Awards 2016.
